Reassured Ltd is the largest non-advised life insurance intermediary in the UK with established locations in Basingstoke, Portsmouth, Southampton, Manchester, Bristol, Bournemouth and Chester.

We launched our new Advised business offering in 2021 and continue to grow our sales and support teams across the entire business this year. We arrange over 15,000 new customer life insurance policies per month with leading sales conversions and customer satisfaction metrics. The business is outbound, B2C sales from internet generated customer enquiries.

Job Description

The role of a Senior Business Intelligence Developer is to develop and modify Business Intelligence solutions independently. The Senior BI Developer designs data models used for reporting and analytics, develops processes for data, and utilises BI tools to satisfy end user data needs to assist stakeholders in their decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage stakeholders through the report development lifecycle including requirements gathering, updates and expectation management, user testing, sign off and roll-out
• Design and build reports using sophisticated visualisation tools
• Work with the Data Engineering Team to evolve data models and the semantic layer and deploy reports into production, and, when necessary, solve any post implementation issues
• Establish a BI governance framework in data model and report building tasks
• Support data analysts and mentor to them
• Take a lead role in cross tribe initiatives that impact the BI Team and otherwise represent the BI Manager when necessary

Qualifications

Knowledge

• Excellent level of proficiency in writing SQL
• Experience of data lakes / databricks
• Strong understanding of data modelling concepts e.g., star schemas, primary/foreign keys, fact and dimension tables etc.
• Extensive experience in building and maintaining data models
• Excellent level of proficiency using Power BI (our chosen data visualisation and report building tool)
• Advanced level of proficiency in data visualisation and report design
• An understanding of best practice regarding design and build of data pipelines, data models and reports
• Strong stakeholder management skills and extensive experience of managing stakeholders through the report development life cycle
• Ability to take a lead role in managing complex projects
• Ability to lead / coach junior colleagues

Qualifications

• Educated at Graduate level preferred, but not essential
• 5 Years minimum experience
• Experience working in the creation of Data Visualisation in a commercial environment
