The Sr Data Scientist in Digital Biomarkers Research & Development will advance precision and personalized medicine through the development and validation of transformative digital measures and algorithms using biometric monitoring technologies (BioMeTs) for people living with MS, neuromuscular diseases (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [ALS] and spinal muscular atrophy [SMA]), Parkinson’s disease (PD) and/or Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).

As a Sr Data Scientist in the Digital Biomarkers Research & Development team within BDH Sciences, you will:

·        Develop and implement complex end-to-end signal processing pipelines, engineer features and disease models for potential biomarkers/endpoints from sensor-based BioMeT data, including clinical studies using Konectom™, a BDH smartphone-based digital outcome assessment of cognitive and motor functions.

·        Perform technical, analytical, and clinical validation analyses and communicate results, including at conferences and in peer-reviewed publications for audiences in the therapeutic area of interest, sensor science, machine learning and digital medicine.

·        Support BDH Solutions’ design and development of novel sensor-based measurement solutions

This role is of key importance to achieve the strategic vision and objective to make Biogen a recognized leader in digital health neuroscience, hence contributing to our corporate vision & strategy – this role will report to the Lead Data Scientist.

 

Location- Baar , Switzerland (hybrid work)

Qualifications

●         PhD in biomechanical engineer, data science, bioinformatics, computer science, or applied mathematics

●         >= 5 years Pharma/Biotech/Tech industry experience, alternatively extensive experience in academic/clinical centers of excellence

●         Expertise in the field of sensor-based signal processing leveraging state of the art methodologies, programming languages, and tools

●         Experience in managing complex, interdisciplinary research, and development projects, especially in the fields of software and technology implementation
