Job Description

• Works under general direction• Relies on advanced knowledge, within the scope of the position and often handles moderately complex tasks. • May review work of other employees and resolve any identified issues unilaterally or with the assistance of a Manager. • Advises and participates in the planning, development of strategy and policy related to discipline. • Works under general or limited supervision. • May carry out and provide reporting for special projects with limited supervision.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum 7+ years of IT experience and min 5+ years of experience in Data EngineeringBachelor’s degree or higher degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or related work experienceSQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and find opportunities for improvement.Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.Experience supporting and working with multi-functional teams in a dynamic environmentExperience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Neo4j, etcExperience with cloud services: AzureExperience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Scala, or JavaExperience with big data toolsExperience with Data Flow, Data Pipeline and workflow management tools: Cloud Composer, Airflow, Luigi, etc. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Certification in Data Engineering related course is preferable
