Job Description

We are working on multiple technology stacks and want to add a highly motivated Engineer to our Commercial Payments organization in our Foster City Office. Visa Commercial Payments organization is responsible for managing Visa B2B Payment Global adoption on Cross-Border funds movement, innovation agenda and the management of strategic partnerships with critical financial institutions. This group is responsible for defining and building the Non-Card based payment innovation and product for Visa Inc. Globally. This includes:

• Distributed-Ledger based Cross border payment platform

• Near time Settlement 

• Enterprise ID stamping to create a digital identity for corporate entities

• Hyperledger chain-code development

• End-to-End Payment eco-system 

• Analytics and Data visualization

Essential Functions

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture for validating and certifying payment workflows

• Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements

• Build analytics tools that utilize the data automation pipeline to provide actionable insights into payment workflow efficiency and key quality assurance metrics

• Collaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolved

• Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.

• Partner with Product on implementation and testing strategies.

• Work on building and maintaining data integration automation framework for B2B Connect Network

• Work with team to partner and drive the strategies involving data and service integration with large financial institutions for competitive rate analysis and settlement data

• Build and Maintain data streaming automation framework to support B2B Connect growth

• Building and testing a robust data driven Forex Rate optimization engine to provide best value to Visa clients

• Analyze input Data elements across multiple sources and build Data lineage for the Asset Management System

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (e.g. Masters)
• Strong fundamentals in CS algorithms are must have as candidate will be spending most of the time to solve various Data wrangling complex problems
• Expertise in at least two of the following general purpose programming languages: Java/Go/Scala/Python/JavaScript
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments, Open source technologies, client-server apps
• Experience working with multiple database models such as Relational DBMS, Document, Columnar and Key-Value data stores
• Experience working with Stream processing Systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, Kafka Streams etc.
• Experience working with big data and messaging platforms: Kafka, Flink, Spark, Hadoop, RabbitMQ
• Experience writing code in multiple programming language paradigms such as Object-Oriented and Functional Programming Languages
• Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and methodologies with a quality-first attitude

Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• Hands-on experience with Test Driven Development and building automation tests for complex applications
• Working knowledge of In-memory Data Grids and Caching Platforms: Hazelcast, Redis
• Experience in Trade Finance, Equities, Payments Processing, Wholesale Credit is a plus
• Understanding of data integration patterns, frameworks and concepts is a plus
• Experience using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GIT, Octopus Deploy, Artifactory and Maven
• Knowledge of agile processes involving Scrum teams and usage of process tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Zephyr a plus
