Gapstars is a Netherlands-based software development services provider. We support our clients in hiring and managing amazing teams who will help them grow. We are on the frontline of the ecosystem, building and helping set up the teams that will be pushing technology and new business models ahead of their time. We hired our first engineers in Sri Lanka 6 years ago and today, we are home to 200+ people in Sri Lanka who are shaping the future by developing scalable software into performance products. Our partners are highly ambitious Dutch tech companies that are looking to conquer their respective markets. We recently opened our hub in Portugal. We want to scale the Lisbon hub to 100 people in 24 months.

What will you do?

• You will make sure that Gapstars becomes a truly Data Driven Organisation 

• Lead the vision, design, and effort of turning our datasets into advanced data-driven products solving core business problems;

• Use a variety of data science, statistical, and engineering techniques to generate insights about user behavior and market dynamics, and work closely with the teams to turn those insights into product opportunities and data-driven solution

• Take-on projects end-to-end, from business questions all the way to production;

• Work hands-on and collaborate closely with our Account Managers, HRBP's, Recruiters & clients to productionize your product solution

• Become an internal and external thought leader in knowledge domains the team specializes in

Requirements

Who are we looking for?

You are a talented and ambitious data enthusiast.  You love being around at the office, yes we are flexible but we have an office-first culture. You enjoy setting up a data-driven organization from scratch. Which means defining the architecture, vendor solution, visualization, and productizing upon the data. 

• You have 2+ years of experience as a Data Scientist/Data Engineer 

• You are product-oriented and have an impact-focused mindset. You are capable of identifying valuable problems, devising appropriate solutions, and delivering results - while maintaining the right balance between agility, accuracy, and engineering best practices;

• You have advanced knowledge of a programming language used for data modeling

• Data-driven mindset, able to interpret the numbers and convert these into actions that improve your effectiveness
  

• You have great energy, are accountable, and love taking initiative to get things done

• Confident working in an agile and international market
  

• Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills, Dutch is preferred, and English is a must.
