Job Description
Role Purpose
Developing, maintaining and implementing the Informa Tech Taxonomy / reference data to support the standardisation of data across the organisation and associate business benefits. Also, provide support to more general tasks with developing and implementing the Informa Tech data governance framework
Responsibilities
· Implement, maintain and develop the Informa Tech Taxonomy Governance Framework, including regular Taxonomy Working Group meetings
· Establish clear guidelines for the dissemination of the Taxonomy including input and output procedures, ensure that the guidelines are adopted and enforced
· Design and implement a change management process so there is a clear method for stakeholders to raise change requirements to the Taxonomy
· Act as a help desk and point of contact as well as the authority on all matters relating to the Taxonomy
· Design training materials and provide training as needed
· Promote awareness of the Taxonomy and its applications throughout the organisation
· Report to the Data Governance SteerCo on all aspects of the development, maintenance and implementation of the Taxonomy
· Maintain and develop the Informa Tech Taxonomy Strategy to ensure that the Taxonomy is maintained and implemented to ensure that the Taxonomy is as effective as possible
· Plan for the future development of the Informa Tech Taxonomy in consultation with relevant stakeholders
· Ensure all activities and responsibilities are aligned to business strategy, involve relevant stakeholders and deliver the business benefits expected from the implementation of a common taxonomy
· Maintain and develop the Informa Tech Taxonomy, applying regular quality assurance checks to ensure that the Taxonomy continues to be consistent, effective, up-to-date, user-centric and is delivering the desired benefits to the business
· Liaise with IIRIS on taxonomy-related matters and leverage capabilities of central data functions, including IIRIS
· Undertake other relevant tasks delegated by the Data Governance SteerCo or the Taxonomy Working Group
Qualifications
Required Skills
· Ability to influence stakeholder to achieve results

· Excellent stakeholder management skills - ability to build strong relationships with individuals and teams
· Ability to resolve conflicts in a non-confrontational manner but retain authority

· Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear manner
· Confident personality, able to work independently without direct supervision, but also able to work collaboratively with all levels of staff across the organisation
Experience
· Experience in managing, developing and deriving value from taxonomies in a complex and fragmented data environment
· Experience of the application of taxonomies to a range of data domains, including customer data and research and editorial content
· Some experience with data governance frameworks, their development and implementation in complex environments with large number of stakeholders
· A good understanding of how taxonomies are used and the benefits they can deliver to a business
