Summit2Sea is looking for a Data Scientist.

Impactful Work You'll Do:
- Support data collection, ingestion, validation, and loading of optimized data in the appropriate data stores
- Work on a team made up of analyst(s), developer(s), data scientist(s), and a product lead
- Identify and implement solutions for the data requirements, including building pipelines to collect data from disparate, external sources, implementing rules to validate that expected data is received, cleansed, transformed, massaged and in an optimized output format for the data store
- Perform validation and analytics in support of the client requirements and evolves solutions through automation, optimizing performance with minimal human involvement
- Monitor pipeline status, performance, and troubleshoots issues while working on improvements to ensure the solution is the very best version to address the customer need
- Focus specifically on the development and maintenance of scalable data stores that supply big data in forms needed for business analysis
- Apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise and has full industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
*This position requires working onsite 2-4 days a week.*
Requirements
Must Have:
- Ability to represent and uphold our core values of integrity, client service, expertise, adaptability, communication, and teamwork
- Solid background developing solutions for high volume, low latency applications and can operate in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
- Distributed computer understanding and experience with SQL, Spark, ETL
- Appreciates the opportunity to be independent, creative and challenged
- Curious mind, passionate about solving problems quickly and bringing innovative ideas to the table
- Able to work without considerable direction and may mentor or supervise other team members
- Experience with programming languages, including Python, C++, Java, or R
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle, testing, and version control
- Experience working with structured, unstructured and/or semi-structured data and conducting analysis
- Experience with data wrangling techniques to cleanse data for data science applications
- Experience with building statistical models and developing machine learning algorithms including supervised, unsupervised or reinforcement
- Experience with designing and executing machine learning models and applications
- Ability to quickly learn new skillsets to solve challenging problems
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
Nice to Have:
- Experience working in an agile development environment
- Experience with distributed programming languages such as Spark, Scala, etc.
- Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow
- Experience with data engineering and data science tools such as Databricks, ElasticSearch, Apache NiFi, StreamSets, etc.
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Qlik
- Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and/or data lake houses
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Experience with enterprise DataOps, DevSecOps and MLOps processes to operationalize and monitor data science models
- Experience with Agile development
- Experience with CI/CD, including Git, Jenkins, and Docker
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
