Senior Analyst

The Data division within Epsilon works with the industry’s #1 consumer database using demographic, survey and transactional data at first party and third party levels to provide a full view of customers and prospects.  The Analytic and Modeling team supporting the Data division leverages these assets to gain insights, develop analytical solutions and provide highly responsive audiences.  We analyze the performance of the audiences and recalibrate our solutions when indicated.  Recommendations are then shared with the Sales and Product Management organizations to help provide our clients and business with more successful campaign and product offerings.

A Senior Analyst in the Data Division of Epsilon will be responsible for:

  • Developing strong working relationships with key people in the Client Services, Sales, and Product Management teams to troubleshoot and provide systematic error finding or fixing for existing solutions, products, and processes.
  • Using well established systems and modeling processes to deliver short term revenue projects while looking for opportunities to enhance those systems.
  • Effectively executing mid-level analytic projects or research by creating effective project/research plans and finding solutions that make efficient use of company resources.
  • Starting to bring novel solutions to emerging or existing business challenges by seeking out and trying new tools or methodologies, comparing to alternatives, synthesizing the research findings into actionable results and delivering these recommendations with confidence as well as substance.
  • Finding creative solutions when standard approaches are not enough.
  • Demonstrating confidence and competence when presenting.
  • Assuming a team leadership role by collaborating directly with team members and management for identifying projects, producing project plans, performing original research, and evaluating existing and potential martking strategies for sales personnel and external clients.
  • Reinforcing Epsilon’s value to clients through advanced analytical insights and strategic recommendations.
  • This position may have assigned clients for which the Senior Analyst is accountable for all statistical deliverables. 
  • Independently keeping  up with industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in data science,  decision science or statistics or similar field, preferred
  • 2-4 years prior experience with data analysis or modeling with large transactional databases
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a statistical, data science or decision science field
  • Minimum 1 year experience conducting original research
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with external clients in a business environment
  • Effectively use a combination of data manipulation and analytic software to solve client or business problems. (SAS/Python/H20/R)
  • Effectively use Visualization tools (power point, Excel, Tableau) to present research insights, trends, and recommendations to an audience.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical/machine learning principals and methods such as sampling, inferences, transformations, validations, linear and logistic regression, cluster, and factor analysis and anova.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Ability to compare alternative methodologies/solutions and make recommendations.
  • Ability to move with the quick pace of changing business and client needs.
  • Ability to work in a Unix/Linux based environment
  • Effectively communicate by using excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effectively lead meeting/discussion while adapting the message to a specific audience.
  • Effectively work in cross department and inter-department teams by helping to balance the workload across the team, helping teammates in their analysis and incorporating their feedback into your analysis.
  • Demonstrated proactiveness and resourcefulness
  • Demonstrated record of working successfully with deadlines and concurrent projects.
  • Ability to make recommendations with limited information. Determine the critical path to the decision.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the Epsilon Data products and processes
  • Knowledge of Targeted or Direct Marketing
