Job Description

As an Analytics Engineer you will work within our wider Data Engineering team developing and managing the data products and tooling at esure. You will be responsible for the modelling, development and testing of data pipelines and products within our data platform.

You can support us to build end-to-end data solutions which will help our business to drive further value from data and create personalised experiences for our customers!

What you'll do:

  • Build and support our data products whilst working with Product Managers and Data Engineers to come up with technical solutions for our most pressing data problems
  • Model this data for different use cases for data science, Business Intelligence and department specific data products
  • Create compelling visualisations that helps to drive decision-making
  • Be a data champion and support to improve analytical engineering processes and roll these out across the team and wider data community
  • Work with Business Analysts on best design for data products to ensure they meet current and future needs

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • A passion for designing and building data products that will benefit a business for now and in the future
  • The ability to perform the engineering necessary to analyse, model, transform, test, and optimise massive volumes of data from multiple sources
  • Extensive experience with data manipulation tools and languages
  • Hands on experience in all phases of data modelling from conceptualization to optimization, supported by advanced SQL skills (DBT would be a bonus but not essential)
  • Experience with scheduling tools (e.g. AirFlow)
  • Experience with Data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau PowerBI, Superset)
