About the role

Reporting to the Regional Business Intelligence Solutions Manager, this role will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, optimise and implement solutions for Azure data platform as well as ETL processes.

What you will be doing

  • Act as an Azure Data Platform expert to propose design and solutions for projects.
  • Design and implement ETL processes to integrate data from various source systems.
  • Improve existing data architecture framework, standards and principles including modeling, metadata, security, master and reference data.
  • Review & improve existing data architectures to determine overall effectiveness and compliance with industry best practices. Finetune performance of ETL packages and stored procedures to keep processes optimized.
  • Design, develop and maintain API with cloud micro-services for effective data communication with customers.
  • Perform R&D and conduct PoC (proof-of-concept) for new data architecture solution. Research new technology and tools to enhance current and develop future ETL processes.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to define requirements for new developments and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Manage external ETL resources during project development.
  • Design and implement data marts, meta data, and data models.
  • Administration of the server environments (DB, reporting and Azure).
  • Create technical documentation on database content, ETL and mappings.
  • Troubleshoot data issues from end-to-end and identify root cause.
  • Routine support of user issues and queries logged in helpdesk ticketing system as well as extended support during budget cycle.

Requirements

The successful candidate

Essential

  • At least a Bachelor's in Business Intelligence, IT or related disciplines
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business intelligence or in a similar role
  • Expertise in Talend cloud and Azure data platform.
  • Experience in modelling and designing relational DBs, star schemas, and cubes
  • Report development experience in the following tools: Cognos and Tableau
  • Good knowledge of at least one of the functional areas: finance reporting, customer relationships and sales, freight forwarding and logistics operations


Desirable

  • Strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server, Transact-SQL and SSIS. SSAS, SSRS knowledge is a plus.
  • Motivated and driven, self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Meticulous, analytical and able to multi-task in a fast-moving environment
  • Keen to work with new technologies.
