Position: Data Engineer

Our LRN team develops data specifically for a set of key product domains like eLearning, Disclosures, personalization and completions. We deal in AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, Glue, and Lambda. You'll build our data lake and partner with Product and BI teams to build new behavioral events, pipelines, datasets, models, and reporting to support their initiatives. You'll also assist to develop our analytics capabilities in Quicksight and build out our real time reporting capabilities.

Requirements

• Design stable, reliable and effective databases objects as per the application needs
• Modify databases objects according to requests and perform tests
• Solve database usage/performance issues and malfunctions
• Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
• Gather user requirements and identify new features
• Provide data management support to users
• Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols
• Work with Application teams for any data reporting queries/requests.
• Design and optimize SQL queries
• Should have good knowledge datawarehouse/Analytics concepts and understanding
• Should have good knowledge of PostgreSQL, MongoDB and MySQL DBMS
• Should have basic knowledge of OS/Linux
• Troubleshooting and providing solutions for any bugs in new database applications
• Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
• Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
• Proven work experience as a Database developer
• In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)
• Hands on experience with SQL
• An ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude
• Excellent analytical and organization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive Attitude towards learning new technology to solve problems
• Good to have knowledge on Aurora Postgres Administration
• Good to have knowledge writing queries on MongoDB
