Check out this CBS Boston article for a glimpse into our culture. As a data-driven company pursuing an IPO we’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist, reporting directly to the Chief Data Officer (CDO), to be primarily responsible for leading the development and application of Data Science models across our business. This Principal Data Scientist position will spearhead modeling efforts across our business everything from experimentation methodologies to predictive and causal impact models to accelerate our growth engine.  The Principal Data Scientist will be responsible for selecting the appropriate approach, designing and evaluating methodologies and guiding analysts in applying Data Science to our business.  Our ideal candidate will have proven, hands-on experience implementing a range of Data Science methods in a business setting, who is enthusiastic about working across our growing team of Analysts in coaching and establishing best practices in applying sophisticated models. 

What you'll do:

• Be the thought leader for elucidating and demonstrating the business opportunities that can be solved with applying advanced Data Science models to ezCater’s business. Coach and mentor a advanced analysts in applying models. 
• Lead the design and implementation of advanced statistical and Data Science models across ezCater’s growing business.
• Select the most appropriate modeling approach, design models and evaluate effectiveness. 
• Establish foundational Data Science methodologies and frameworks (e.g., casual inference models, random forrest,  etc) for Analysts across the company to use with oversight. 
• Set the technical direction and standards for coding and designing models across ezCater’s business. 
• Collaborate with analysts embedded in business teams in applying vetted methodologies, quality checking output to ensure high standards. Work directly wit business to understand challenges, guide approaches and explain results.

What you'll have:

• 5+ years of experience in a quantitative or technical work environment with advanced degree (Masters or Phd) in a quantitative field
• Experience designing and applying Data Science and/or ML methodologies in a business setting  (such as Bayesian Optimal Experimental Design, Casual inference models. Random Forests  etc.)
• High comfort level with R or Python (prefered) 
• Proven track record of collaborating with Analysts and business leaders in explaining methodologies and vetting applications for performance, accuracy and quality. 
• A disposition that is friendly, flexible and pragmatic, and the desire to learn something new every day and continue to grow.

The national cash compensation range for this role is $127,000 - $208,000*  per year.
