OVERVIEW & IMPACT:
We are currently looking for a Performance Analysis Research Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. The engineer will contribute to memory and storage system research in the Datacenter Technology and Cloud Solutions Lab. The engineer will join a team of experts in researching and developing innovative memory and storage system solutions that utilize existing and emerging technologies to add substantial value to storage systems. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of storage technologies including file systems, disaggregated storage system, networking, Linux I/O Stack, Linux performance profiling and computer architecture.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Propose possible approaches and to solve complex performance problems related to disaggregated storage system workloads and Fabric Network topology.
- Propose and implement algorithms to utilize in-storage computational resource to offload CPU and memory resource utilization from the host to the storage device.
- Create new and useful IP, publish at conferences/journals, and generate whitepapers.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:
- PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, with focus on data modeling and data science.
- Experience with storage and network performance analysis and optimization including file systems, object storage, TCP/IP, FPGA programming, high speed networks.
- Good knowledge of popular In-storage Computation, Networking, Cloud Computing, and Big Data Frameworks.
- Experience with deploying and debugging applications across server clusters.
- Strong background in C/C++/Python
