OVERVIEW & IMPACT:

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. is looking for a talented and highly motivated individual with in-depth knowledge on physical layer wireless communications and channel coding to join our team as an intern. We are part of a team that designs cellular algorithms for Samsung Exynos chipsets and also participate in 5G standardization and 6G research. In this team, you will perform research on 6G PHY system design and/or channel code design to enhance Samsung products and platforms and to contribute to 5G/6G standardization and research.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducting research for 6G wireless systems with focus on physical layer system, receiver algorithms such as iterative baseband processing, and/or channel coding towards academic publications and standardization/intellectual property.
• Designing baseband receiver algorithms and/or channel coding algorithms for cellular modems, using classical and deep-learning based techniques.
• Publish research results on reputable conferences and journals.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong background in communication theory, signal processing, channel coding theory
• Python/C++/MATLAB coding skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

PREFERED SKILLS

• Strong background in deep learning and information theory
• Experience with key deep learning tools and libraries such as TensorFlow and Pytorch
