What You'll Do
Samsung Display America Lab is looking for a machine-learning engineer who will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies for future generations of display systems and devices. As a machine-learning engineer, you will help to build the next generation of machine learning systems by designing novel algorithms to solve computer vision and machine learning problems.
Location: Onsite at our San Jose office/headquarters 5 days a week OR Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose office/headquarters 3 days per week with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of your time.
- Participate in cutting edge research in machine learning and computer vision applications.
- Apply expert software development skills to a wide range of ML-related coding projects
- Develop solutions for real world problems
- Participate in and initiate the publication of research results in top tier conferences and journals
What You Bring
- BS degree plus 15 years of experience, MS degree plus 13 years of experience, or PhD plus 10 years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in software development with machine learning and/or computer vision
- Expertise and experience in computer vision (feature extraction, segmentation, color, shape and texture analysis, object detection). Specific computer vision skills in object detection, and classification is plus.
- Expertise and experience in learning algorithms (multi-class classifications, decision trees, support vector machines and deep learning)
- Excellent programming skills in C, C++, Python
- Prior working experience in OpenCV, Scikit-learn, and deep learning frameworks (Tensorflow, Pytorch, Keras and/or Mxnet).
Preferred Skills
- PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 3+ years of experience applying machine learning to solving real-world problems
- Experience in adapting standard machine learning methods to best exploit modern parallel environments (e.g. distributed clusters, multicore SMP, and GPU)
- Experience implementing and optimizing image processing/computer vision algorithms.
