At Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), data is a critical business asset that facilitates business operations, empowers decision making, and provides vital insights into improvement and innovation of PlayStation products and services. The Transformers focuses on building scalable data pipelines and services to curate, aggregate, and provide realtime and batch insights into various datasets (e.g. account, entitlement and commerce data) that support consumers across SIE. This includes data integrations with other Sony entities. Additionally, we enable analytics on platform Events by building Data Lake as well as real-time services that support the Customer Service organization. 

Tech Stack: Scala, Python, Spark, Lake Formation, AWS EMR, Kinesis/Firehose, Lambda, DynamoDB, Athena, S3, Github, Jenkins, DataDog 

Responsibilities

  • You will be part of a team responsible for development of PlayStation Network’s Data Platform and Analytics solutions to reshape the platform so that it can easily be consumed in real-time as well as batch.

  • You will play a key role in design, development, automation, and quality related solutions, working closely with teams across PlayStation.

  • You will participate in product road-map discussions and identify key areas for improvement to ensure we all deliver awesome!

Qualifications

  • Projected to graduate in 2024

  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership for your work

  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written

  • Broad understanding of AWS Managed services and tools such as Kinesis, Lambda, Firehose, Athena/Presto

  • Knowledge in distributed Database technology such as Redshift, Snowflake, Dynamo DB

  • Strong foundation in data engineering, data structures and software design
