Scientific Systems Company, Inc. (SSCI, www.ssci.com) is looking for a Principal Research Engineer in the area of Cognitive Autonomy for unmanned systems and manned/unmanned teams. This position is preferably located in Woburn, Ma, however remote is acceptable for the right candidates. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for U.S. Dept. of Defense Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced concepts in Autonomy, AI, Machine Learning, and/or Cognitive Systems
  • Support competitive proposals and follow-on programs for R+D customers, including DARPA, ONR, AFRL, ARL, NASA, and other government agencies and industry primes
  • Act as technical contributor on cognitive autonomy R&D programs

Requirements

  • Ph.D. with 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent, in CS, AI, Robotics, Cognitive Systems, Learning-based control, game theory. Demonstrated experience in Autonomous vehicles, behavior-based robotics, or other unmanned/autonomous systems development.
  • Established background in Autonomy, Robotics, or Unmanned Systems, with technology focus in AI, machine learning
  • Demonstrated ability to interact independently with R+D customers as PI or SME
  • Demonstrated small team leadership and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Human Systems Integration (HIS), multi-vehicle tasking, and/or mission planning for unmanned systems.
