Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Data Scientist and Analyst to join our Global Urban Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) within AECOM’s Buildings + Places business line.  This individual will work collaboratively with core team members of the Urban Analytics COE as well as other AECOM teams to deliver quality products and solutions to our clients around the world. This can be a hybrid or remote position, with the expectation of working collaboratively with the team by utilizing Microsoft Teams or other virtual communication platforms.Principle Accountabilities are limited but not include:Work on a wide range of products, projects, and tasksPerform data mining, data manipulation, data analysis, and data visualizationCreate reusable scripts and data pipelines to automate proceduresCreate client-facing, user-friendly dashboards, tools, and applicationsDevelop graphics, maps, reports, and presentationsWork on multiple projects and tasksWork in a collaborative fast-paced environmentWork closely with project team, and collaborate on project scope and delivery

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Familiarity with socioeconomic data such as census and ACS dataExperience with Tableau, PowerBI, or other programs/libraries in python or RExperience with database such as writing queries/scripts to retrieve or manipulate dataExperience in creating interactive dashboards is a plusExperience working with spatial data, spatial R, and open source GISFamiliarity with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWSFamiliarity with big dataStrong skills in R or pythonStrong data visualization SkillsExperience with core Data Science skills in data engineering, machine learning methods (regression, classification etc.)
