Adoc Talent Management is looking for a Research Scientist - DSP for Optical Communications, for a major global group with strong leadership in telecommunications. Its European research centre creates new proprietary technological building blocks to be implemented in the company's ICT products.

Position

You will join a research lab dedicated to cutting edge development for Optical Communication Technology (ultra-high capacity long-haul transmission systems).

Working as part of the DSP team, you will be focused on research topics that may include: Calibration and compensation of component impairments; design of advanced modulation formats; novel and low-power demodulation algorithms; fiber nonlinearity compensation strategies; mitigation of cascaded in-line filtering effects and polarization-dependent loss; application of machine-learning methods in coherent systems and DSP; link impairment monitoring.

You will lead research programs from A to Z: proposition of novel concepts to be implemented, validation algorithms via simulations and experiments, collaboration other international internal teams and academic labs, communication on your results, generation of intellectual property / patents and publication in top journals and conferences.

Profile

You hold a PhD in optical communications and DSP. Thus, you demonstrate a strong background in DSP algorithms, digital communications and fiber transmission theory and excellent programming skills: Python (preferred) and/or MATLAB, C/C++ is a plus. With your experience as a early stage researcher, you have a good track record with publications in high-impact optical journals and conferences. Laboratory experience and industrial experience would be a plus.

You are a team player and can also conduct independent research. You enjoy sharing your expertise and communicate with impact. You are fluent in English, French is a plus.

You are agile, flexible, creative and curious. You think out of the box, show resilience and persistence.
