Adoc Talent Management is looking for a Research Scientist – WDM transmission, for a major global group with strong leadership in telecommunications. Its European research centre creates new proprietary technological building blocks to be implemented in the company's ICT products.

Position

You will join a research lab dedicated to cutting edge development for Optical Communication Technology (ultra-high capacity long-haul transmission systems).

Working on WDM optical communications, you will be focused on research topics aiming the design of WDM optical communications and other optical applications, optical amplification and hardware implementation.

You will lead research program from A to Z: proposition of novel concepts to be implemented, development of high bandwidth optical amplification schemes, development of automated electronic control of optical amplifiers, theory exploration, advanced modeling design, analysis, simulation, optical lab experiment. You will collaborate other international internal research teams and academic labs and with other business units for exploitation of research outputs.

The job also includes communication on your results, generation of intellectual property / patents and publication in top journals and conferences.

For senior profiles, the responsibilities include mentoring and leading junior researchers

Profile

You hold a PhD in WDM optical communications and optionally a junior to senior experience after. Thus, you demonstrate a strong background in optical communication and optical amplification, WDM transmission and fiber nonlinearities. With experience in optical lab experiments, your skills also include: familiarity with Python, Matlab, C/C++, and other simulation tools, familiarity with model implementation, complexity evaluation, and optimization for complexity, latency, power consumption. You have a good track record with publications in high-impact optical journals and conferences or patents.

You are a team player and can also conduct independent research. You enjoy sharing your expertise and communicate with impact. You are fluent in English, French is a plus.

You are agile, flexible, creative and curious. You think out of the box, show resilience and persistence.
