Job Description

• You are fully responsible for scheduling, plan and execute scientific experiments with phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria within the disease control department.
• You support biology and chemistry projects through data generation and analysis.
• You document experiments and test results, interpret data and proposes adequate follow up. 
• You administrate a fully descriptive lab journal to assure reproducibility of tests/experiments.
• You will record, communicate test abnormalities, and errors and enables improvement
• You are responsible for maintenance of laboratories, laboratory equipment and instruments
• You may provide training and technical advice to other lab staff
• You represent your area of work in project teams.
• You evaluate, report and implement new ideas in consultancy with line managers & scientific experts
• You understand defined process flows and methods, norms and guidelines in own area of biology (i.e. application technology, plants or fungi rearing or logistics, data handling, equipment).
• You drive for high quality but as well efficiency in a given range of responsibility (output - input relation).
• You improve/develop and report new methods, risk assessments and SOPs (with appropriated coaching, depending on complexity)
• You share knowledge and examples of best practice.
• You may be active as apprentice trainer for a specialised area

Qualifications

• Biology lab technician / BMS or BSc in agrobiology disciplines or equivalent professional education 
• Some years of experience in lab positions, preferable working with phytopathogenic fungi and/or bacteria
• Own contribution to delivery of projects.
• Has good indication knowledge and shares knowledge and best practices as needed
• Openness and flexibility to change and actively support the implementation of change
• Think cross team for operational excellence
• Communicates inspirationally but honestly within team and function. Promote a culture of transparency and open feedback
• Good knowledge of English language written and spoken (Level B1 or above) any other language
