Job Description

We are seeking a Business Data Analyst to join our Life Operations and Administration team for our Singapore office. The holder of this position will be reporting to the Head of Administration and Accounting – Life & Health, APAC.

Good quality data is essential to our business. Data received is analysed and used different functions for various financial, actuarial studies and reporting. In this role, you will be entirely assigned to data management, be part of the Technical Accounting team and interact regularly with Actuaries from other departments (Reserving and Pricing). In more detail, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure data quality – client data received needs to be complete, accurate, consistent and provided with contractual deadlines
  • Extract and load data into our system, including data and plan mapping for all clients investigating and resolving client issues
  • Develop tools to automate data management and quality controls
  • Actively monitor client accounts and produce summary reports highlighting trends and issues
  • Participate in projects and other ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ideally, you bring the following skills:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role or in Life re/insurance accounting. 
  • Possess knowledge on re/insurance.
  • Proficient in Access and Excel skills, able to prepare data with R
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written), knowledge of other Asian language is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and planning skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact and communicate across all levels
  • Able to work independently and as part of team
