We are looking for a Senior Data Science Consultant to join our growing Data Science & Advanced Analytics Team. Our vision is to be the number one provider for data and AI insight services in the public sector. Main Responsibilities:

  • Working with senior stakeholders to design novel data science solutions
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance on best practice to the team
  • Collaborating with co-workers and senior management to grow the data science team and proposition.
  • Line managing a team of data scientists and analysts.

Requirements:

  • 5 years + in a data science role, working with statistics, data science or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with Python or SQL to query and transform large datasets.
  • Proven experience working in a cloud platform such as Azure, AWS or GCP to deploying real world ML models
  • Experience directly managing a team of data scientists and ML engineers
  • Working experience with Shallow and Deep learning models
  • Working knowledge of MLOps methodologies
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and non-relational databases. Hands on experience with graph databases would be beneficial.
  • Experience leading on data science projects, acting as the point of contact and escalation for senior stakeholders and quality assuring deliverables.
  • Expert problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Collaborative and driven mindset.

How will you spend your days?

  • Provide technical leadership to a team of data scientists and ML engineers
  • Work with senior stakeholders including executives, product, IT and data teams to identify and design data science solutions.
  • Quality assure and sign off data science solutions and produce technical design report and documentation.
  • Work closely with the Head of Data Science and Advanced Analytics to shape the Data Science business, identifying new areas of growth, resource gaps and areas of improvement.
  • Act as a thought-leader internally for your team and externally to the market building our brand.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to grow a pipeline of novel data science opportunities, bringing in your ideas and sharing knowledge.
  • Inspire your direct reports, taking the role of their mentor and developing them on their career journey.

How will you stand out?

Qualifications for a Senior Data Science Consultant

  • Proven experience working with public sector datasets.
  • Experience using Python and/or SQL to analyse large datasets and build production-grade Machine Learning models
  • Expertise in working with one of the major cloud providers such as MS Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Direct experience using MLOps methodologies in the MS Azure cloud will be strongly beneficial
  • Experience managing a team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
  • A successful history and passion for designing and building data solutions.
  • Proven experience in client facing roles, building trust and long-lasting relationships.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Delivering high-quality content at pace. Translating complex technical solutions into tangible actions for stakeholders.
  • A good understanding of our clients’ markets and challenges.
  • A passion for achieving business transformation through data science and AI; the ability to energise and excite those you work with initiative; the ability to work flexibly in a team and provide mentorship to the wider data science team.
  • Articulate and clear in communications to mixed audiences - in writing, through presentations and one to one.
  • Personal accountability - enthusiasm to develop your own projects and take ownership and bring in new ideas.
  • Calm and adaptable in the face of ambiguity and in a fast-paced, quick-changing environment.
  • You must be comfortable with the consulting lifestyle and be willing to travel.
