You are passionate about implementing operational controls and systems for data teams. As the Data Operations Manager, you will play a key role in leveling up Data Services team operations and organizational data practices. You’ll own and implement repeatable processes that help align Data Services w/ the rest of the organization, serving as a systems expert on data services operations and org data management. This hands-on, cross functional role interfaces closely with various internal teams (Business Operations, Product Management, Strategy & others) to ensure we have processes and protocols in place to manage data and knowledge effectively and ensure alignment with data principles and org priorities.

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

  • Work with Data Services team members to define end-state outcomes and evaluate how data and processes need to be changed/ improved to make it easier to collaborate and get work done
  • Develop documentation for data management practices and quality controls on behalf of the Data Services
  • Evaluate end-customer issues/needs and engage with appropriate stakeholders to develop, enhance, and automate processes for data and knowledge management
  • Work with our Business, IT Security, Legal and Software Development teams to ensure our data processes and procedures are in compliance and that we are adhering to applicable data use agreements
  • Assist in the development of systems and processes for data quality monitoring/ reporting, operational controls related to privacy, data handling & compliance, onboarding/ offboarding end users and vendor cost management
  • Serve on enterprise data governance initiatives as the dedicated Data Services team data steward to ensure proper feedback loops between new data governance policies and implementation of said policies within systems
  • Document and manage data updates in data dictionaries in partnership w/ organizational data stewards
  • Manage data subscriptions, data vendors and data-use agreements, where applicable
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing, processing, and applying quality control metrics and processes
  • Strong track record of prioritizing operational improvements based on impact & effort
  • Strong ability to use systems-based frameworks to assess complex issues and provide solutions that address systemic problems
  • Strong understanding of the full data lifecycle, inclusive of data governance principles & practices through to implementation of data management systems & practices
  • Some experience developing and embedding data quality programs
  • Strong data & technical acumen with the ability to work with various types of data
  • Proven ability to work among a large multidisciplinary team w/ a collaborative, silo-free mindset
  • Comfortable liaising and influencing at all levels, with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Some knowledge of CCPA/ GDPR/ PCI and national data protection laws
  • Experience with project/ operations management tools and methodologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication particularly around standards & process; comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team, and excellent critical thinking, analytical skills, and judgment
  • Experience w/ Heap a plus but not required.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location.  Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
