Job Description

Data Scientist with a Computer Science background. The individual will be a part of a team working on a modular high-throughput data processing framework for biological imaging, interfacing imaging hardware on one end, and delivering visual, actionable insights to scientists on the other.

1. Presenting scientific imaging data to scientific audiences in an academic or industrial, R&D engineering setting. Business intelligence experience does not qualify 2. High speed, low latency, real-time synchronization of data streams and devices. 3. Building graphical, dynamic scientific visualizations using databases. 4. Artificial Intelligence as it relates to image processing. 5. Robust software design principles. Required Skills and Qualifications: BS/MS + work experience OR a recent PhD. Programming skills: python, R General Database skills: SQL or NoSQL (e.g. MongoDb) Knowledge of Math and Statistics. Machine Learning: basic to advanced as it applies to image processing. Data visualization tools: plotly, D3, matplotlib Communication skills: Presenting data to scientific audiences, incorporating scientists in the software design. Solid SWE background: Algorithms and data structures, OOP design patterns, algorithm complexity, understanding of how the computational backends work. SOLID principle understanding. Familiarity with operating systems, virtual environments and multithreading Hadoop, MapR, Apache Storm, TorchServe and related.
