PaidRight exists to restore trust between employers and employees when it comes to pay. We envision a world where employee payment compliance is a given and payroll data drives business optimisation. We are a small, well funded company that services some of the biggest names in the country and are currently looking for a data engineer to join our exciting team, providing technical expertise to help us grow. We need experienced people who can add immediate value to our data pipeline allowing us to support more customers at a faster cadence.

What you’ll do:

  • Discover opportunities within our data solutions
  • Build robust data pipelines
  • Integrate cloud products and services together to augment our technical architecture
  • Take on varied responsibilities, especially in an early stage company environment
  • Find and recommend new ways to be productive, reliable and increase the quality of our outputs

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years experience in a data engineering role
  • Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language commonly used in data engineering like Python, R, Scala etc
  • Strong understanding of SQL and database modelling
  • Strong understanding of building data pipelines
  • Experience with software engineering practices like versioning, testing etc
  • Experience with modern data-engineering practices
  • Experience dealing with disparate data sources (relational datasets, flat files, excel, HDFS / Big data systems) to unify client data
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience with at least one cloud computing platform like Amazon AWS, Google Cloud etc
  • Experience with at least one cloud based datawarehouse like Snowflake / Amazon Redshift / Google BigQuery / Azure SQL Data Warehouse
  • Collaborative by nature and able to work within a cross functional team.
