About the Work

In this role, you will lead initiatives on the latest machine learning techniques to accelerate progress in our vehicle behavior. You will collaborate closely with other core Autonomy teams, ML researchers, and Infrastructure engineers to develop and productionize ML-based solutions to our most challenging prediction and planning problems.

• Driving the vision for a world-class team of scientists and engineers working on Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence/Autonomous Vehicles. 
• Mentor team members in their professional development and deepening their ML   expertise
• Work with ML research and Robotics engineers to design solution architecture that combines traditional robotics and ML
• Define ML/AI roadmap and milestones for the Behavior organization and other Nuro domains
• Drive the development and evangelize best practices for scoping, building, validating, deploying, and monitoring ML models at Nuro

About You

• 7+ years of work experience in Machine Learning, AV, and AI with a proven track of growing ML teams and applying ML research to production systems
• 3+ years of experience of leading and driving critical/high impact projects/initiatives
• Experience deploying ML (NLP, CV, Reinforcement Learning, Sequence Modeling) at scale in production systems. Strong machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling expertise, such as causal inference modeling, neural networks, reinforcement learning, NLP, or computer vision
• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or other quantitative fields

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex analysis and algorithms across multiple organizations
