Staff Data Scientist (Remote, US)

Position Summary:The Staff Data Scientist is responsible for driving the future direction of the Vivun Data Science team. Beyond simply leading with ideas and innovation recommendation, the Staff Data Scientist explores various avenues to improve the Vivun product suite machine learning set of capabilities and smart behaviors… Researching new techniques, exploring new model options, assessing data changes and their impact on existing models are part of the day to day responsibilities.
They may be responsible for defining the Data Science roadmap for Vivun and motivate the engineering team to embrace and execute on this roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as leader and driver of the Data Science team research effort.
• Build and maintain a data science roadmap in line and in support of Vivun product suite innovation
• Educate, coach, mentor other more junior Data scientists or ML engineers on the strategy and tactics prescribed to keep our competitive edge.
• Identify and manage potential risks with the current engineering efforts as it related to our Data science implementation.
• Collaborate with the Product and Engineering Managers on resource allocation needs for each effort the Data science team contributes to.
• Communicate with leadership as required to manage expectations
