Data Scientist - Biosensor Analytics

Biofourmis is looking for candidates with Biosensor Algorithms background to solve data science problems in digital health and continuous patient monitoring.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new health monitoring features, functionalities, and algorithms for low power embedded wearables and/or cloud solutions
  • Design, prepare and conduct clinical, laboratory and bench studies for feasibility, development and validation
  • Build pipelines and automation for processing, data analysis, and machine learning model training to accelerate algorithm development
  • Design, iterate, and optimize algorithmic processes and systems to achieve best in class computational efficiency and clinical performance
  • Create, refactor, and manage code repositories and releases
  • Carry out incremental improvements, refinements, and maintenance of algorithms and code base
  • Work with firmware and back-end and QA engineers to implement algorithms and models in our products and ensure their quality through rigorous testing
  • Foster collaborative cross functional communication, proper planning, and timely executions
  • Follow good research development practices and quality management system for product life cycle
  • Prepare reports for the design, implementations, and verification & validation
  • Present results and recommendations to cross functional teams and management
  • Contribute to the company's intellectual property and publications
  • Be self-driven, motivated and a team player

Qualification & experience:

  • PhD/MS in Digital Signal Processing, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • 1– 3 years of academia/industrial experience in developing biosensor analytic algorithms for biosensor and or cloud deployment involving complex physiological and actigraphy signals
  • Solid background and practical expertise in digital/image/statistical signal processing, and machine/deep learning
  • Hands-on experience in PPG/actigraphy signal processing, embedded sensor hardware development, algorithm integration and testing are a plus
  • Proficiency in programming using MATLAB, Python and or C/C++
  • Experience with agile project management, version control, and QMS tools
  • Strong problem-solving and excellent communication skills
  • Good track record with patents and/or publications
  • Must be comfortable working with a mostly remote-based team and colleagues
