JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the Data Engineering Analyst is to be part of the data integration function supporting integration and optimization of Janes Intara interconnected intelligence products into systems to support national security customers.

Primary focus: Data integration activities, customer data and system requirements gathering, working closely with customers and internal teams for successful implementation, the Janes Intara capability is new, and there will be many opportunities to shape and lead in the design of our evolving estate.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AT JANES

  • Be part of the product integration team and work closely with key customers, partners, project stakeholders, SMEs, and product owners to understand and fulfil customer requirements.
  • Be a data evangelist with ability to understand and communicate how our data inputs and outputs affect different groups and identify areas Janes can provide additional value.
  • Participate as a member of cross-functional squads that includes data engineers, software engineers, SMEs and business stakeholder from within Janes, partner and customer organisations.
  • Good understanding of data modelling, algorithms, and data transformation techniques to work with data platforms.
  • Develop and refine the software development kit (SDK), tools and documentation for customers to use with Janes APIs.
  • Become a key stakeholder in the governance and quality assurance of our SDKs.
  • Have a passion for data and data analysis and data workflows for impact analysis, problem solving or any gap analysis.
  • Working within a DevOps environments, in an Agile team to agree and develop system/product designs based on user requirements and specify these as user stories.

THE IDEAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE FOR THIS ROLE ARE

  • Previous working experience within a Data Engineer function in a large organization working in enterprise level software development.
  • Good understanding of data architecture in web application framework and both client /server side is desirable.
  • Working in Agile Software development practices.
  • Must have in depth Knowledge in at least one RDBMS system
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS is essential.
  • Working knowledge of No-sql database and Graph D/B is desirable.
  • Some programming and scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, Java
  • Experience in working with the AI and machine learning models for data augmentation use cases is desirable.
  • Experience with GIS applications like ArcGIS desirable.
  • Government clearance a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge or experience working with national security an advantage.
  • Proficient Communication, flexible to move on projects per business need.
  • Proactive, self-starter and self-learner.
  • Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate a methodical, self-organized and action-oriented approach.
  • Be responsive and help remove impediments for the team in a timely manner.
  • Manage dependencies with other teams.
