Spotify is a global community of over 450 million music fans, artists, and podcasters. It's always been our mission to make audio more accessible for everyone, and create innovative ways for creators and fans to connect with each other.
The Talk Mission is the team within Spotify responsible for building the best tools for podcast, video, and live creators. We have three platforms that help us deliver a great creator experience: Anchor (the platform that allows you to create, distribute, monetize, and grow a podcast, all for free), Spotify for Podcasters (the platform that makes it easy to understand and engage with your listeners on Spotify), and Spotify Live (the platform that allows anyone to stream and interact with live audio).
We've done a lot already, and we have no plans of slowing down. Come help us build the future of Talk creation!

What you'll do:

  • Partner with a team of marketers, user researchers, and other data scientists to measure the impact of our marketing initiatives.
  • Bridge the gap between our first- and third-party data warehouses to uncover opportunities for growth, and advise new creator acquisition strategies.
  • Scope, build and socialize dashboards to monitor the health of our marketing funnel
  • Leverage your deep domain knowledge and expertise in statistical methods to understand our target market – and make recommendations on how best to reach them.
  • Explore new ways to grow capabilities of the Podcast Creator Marketing team, and help articulate their needs to mission and executive leadership.
  • Help our Analytics Engineering team build foundational datasets and segmentations that help make Marketing Analytics easier.

Who you are:

  • You have 5+ years (7-10+ years for Senior) of relevant applied experience, with a bachelor’s degree or higher in human factors, economics, computer science, psychology, statistics, or another quantitative field.
  • You enjoy finding patterns amidst chaos, and have the technical competence to perform advanced analytics. Your coding skills are top notch (R, Python, or Scala), and you have advanced experience with dashboards and visualizations (Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio, ggplot/matplotlib or equivalent).
  • You are fluent in marketing metrics (CAC, CPA, CPC, CPM, CLV…) and bring expertise in one or more measurement techniques (multitouch attribution, mixed media modeling, incrementality testing, customer journeys, segmentation analysis, or others).
  • You are a creative thinker, with innate curiosity and exceptional data sense, who is capable of taking on loosely defined problems and delivering clear and compelling narratives.
  • You understand the importance of qualitative methodologies in partnership with quantitative analysis (we’re not just looking for a quant, we’re looking for a storyteller).
  • You are a communicative person who values strong relationships and enjoys mentoring and teaching others.
  • You have a strong empathy for the needs of creators, and are excited by the opportunity to help them grow. You might even be one yourself!
  • Advertising, market research, or agency experience is a major plus.
