The ideal candidate possesses a thorough understanding of data science and analytics and is skilled in working on data analysis in support of disrupting criminal activity. This is a remote role supporting a hybrid workforce in an estimated 40 hours per week.
We are looking for a passionate data scientist that can analyze the world’s largest collection of cybercrime data and use their skill and experience to help identify new ways to apply automated analytics to disrupt cybercrime for our customers. This role is both internally and customer facing.
What You'll Do
- Analyze the data collected by SpyCloud’s cyber research team
- Identify additional valuable data sources to support analytic efforts
- Undertake preprocessing and processing of various unstructured and structured data-sources
- Analyze large amounts of data/information to discover and articulate trends and patterns.
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
- Develop conclusive insights using statistical methods.
- Make and defend arguments using data and data-based insight.
- Work with internal product leaders and teams to understand data elements and models
- Work directly with clients to define data models to allow for the optimal use of SpyCloud products.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience as a data scientist, data analyst or data engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Business
- Has working knowledge of multiple programming languages and statistical packages, as well as knowledge of dataset tools and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) tools.
- Critical thinker that is comfortable supporting collaborative problem solving in a team environment
- Experience in using data science to analyze datasets for the purposes of detecting fraud or cyberthreats
- Experience with databases (relational or NoSQL)
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly self-directed, empathetic, curious, and flexible
- Be self-motivated and be able to switch contexts as business needs change
Nice to Have
- Experience working with large enterprises in development of data models deployed across very large datasets
- Experience working with large datasets to identify and develop new methodologies in the detection of cyberthreats
- Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks
- Familiarity with using REST APIs
