Control Risks is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Data Analytics team. The Data Analyst will be responsible for providing data analytics as they relate to various data analytics projects. The successful candidate will assist the data analytics team relating to ETL and coding on various platforms. They will also support and collaborate with the data analytics team to deliver services and work products to meet and exceed client’s expectation and company standards.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Organize and interrogate electronic data to assess completeness and appropriateness for analysis
  • Participate in internal discussions on project deliverables
  • Identify and understand relationships between multiple data sources and types
  • Create and design data queries and procedures through scripts and codes to address client requests and project strategies
  • Analyse and interpret financial, operational, and transactional data
  • Create and maintain documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and information sources throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience in SQL and Python/R especially in developing code for automation
  • 1+ years in ETL processes, manipulating large amounts of complex data, normalizing disparate datasets
  • Strong communication skills (fluency in English)
  • Experience working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment

Qualifications and specialist skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Excel including modelling and data pivoting skills
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with open software and database applications
  • Familiarity with software and tools such as Tableau
  • Ability to leverage technology to solve problems
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while effectively juggle competing demands and evolving priorities
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and motivation to succeed
