Job Description

We are looking for junior and senior level research scientists working in reinforcement learning. This is a rare opportunity to join our team in the Edmonton research center, with opportunities working on challenging but impactful projects both in research and real-world applications, including:

(1) conducting high-quality research in the topics of continual learning, multi-task / transfer learning, offline RL, and etc.;

(2) developing prototype applications in autonomous driving, and other complex real-world optimization problems. We have created a passionate and engaging culture that encourages conducting innovative research, and combing research with engineering to create real-world impacts.

By joining our team, you will work closely with other research scientists, research engineers, and research interns to design state-of-the-art AI solutions and machine learning algorithms, to evaluate them both with common benchmarking suites and with internal simulation environments & date sets, and to publish the research results at top conferences. Such innovations are expected to support R&D in the domains of autonomous driving, robotics, network control, enterprise supply chain management, data center and cloud facility optimization, and chip design, etc. Senior research scientists are expected to lead research teams and take part in setting research strategies.

Qualifications

  • PhD or Masters in computer science or related fields with a focus on reinforcement learning & decision making.
  • In-depth hands-on experience in Python, C/C++, R, Julia, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc. and a track record of translating ideas into research prototypes quickly.
  • Papers at relevant conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, AAMAS, ICRA, RSS, etc.
  • Working or internship experience at industry research labs or technology companies a plus.
  • Experience building large scale machine learning solutions for decision making, planning, reasoning, autonomous driving, operations research, or multi-agent systems a plus for senior level positions.
