In order to do this, we are hiring a Staff Data Engineer- a data enthusiast who is a problem solver and is passionate about delivering value with data for both internal and external customers. This role is extremely dynamic as it would challenge you as a senior technical leader by having an opportunity to work on complex data problems that have a great impact on the organization .

What you will do.

• Work in a cross functional team to create new data products and features to enable high quality analytics for the company 
• Contribute to the design and implementation of our data landscape and architecture, emphasizing real-time processing requirements, reliability, scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Focus on evolving the existing Data platform to incorporate new use cases both in batch and real time manner
• Collaborate on delivery of data, its storage and transformation to contribute to Codility’s data models (existing and new) while being complaint to Data Laws
• Take over end-to-end technical ownership of the data projects from business understanding to deployment and monitoring 
• Champion observability and monitoring in the Data platform 
• Advocate best practices for modeling and usage of data for analytics
• Establish Data Quality foundations and evangelize them across the organization
• Adopt a consulting and coaching mindset within and outside the team 

We would love it if you have.

• You have an extensive well rounded background in building Data Lake and Data Warehouse and surrounding ecosystem
• You have a solid experience in Data modeling: you have a first hand experience in deploying, maintaining, and updating data models in production 
• You have experience with Hadoop ecosystem, spark and orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt or similar)
• You have hands-on experience in building ETL processes
• You have experience with Data Warehouse or Lakehouse solutions (eg., for example Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift,Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Data Lake) 
• You have good knowledge of design patterns, system architectures and best practices
• You love to automate things
• You have experience deploying and managing data technologies on AWS or GCP (preferably in IaaC manner)
• You have solid programming skills in Python and  Scala.  Golang or Java is a plus
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases (eg., Postgres,MongoDB)
• You are conscious of security, governance, metrics, performance and deliverables 
• Experience with data streaming is a big plus 
• Experience with supporting Machine Learning projects is a big plus (for example, Amazon SageMaker, MLflow)
