The Role
At Pango, data is at the core of most of our decision making and our Data Platform is one of the pillars supporting the company’s growth. We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to help us design, develop and maintain an analytics architecture to meet the enterprise's business analysis and reporting needs. They will also play a role in mentoring and training other team members on the analytics architecture. The Analytics Engineer will primarily leverage their expertise in SQL and their data modeling abilities, but are also proficient with Python or a similar language for use-cases where needed.
Responsibilities

Work with the Manager of Analytics Engineering to understand new data requirements, analysis strategies and reporting mechanisms.

Design and build scalable data assets optimized for analytics bringing forth new ideas based on previous experience.

Deliver analytics data assets employing engineering best practices (i.e. version control, CI/CD, documentation) contributing to improving best practices as the team evolves.

Implement ongoing data validation and auditing.

Provide coaching and mentoring to other team members so that they can contribute to the success build of data assets.

Provide and maintain documentation of business logic and data definitions defining standards and templates as needed.

Recommend and implement enhancements to optimize analytics engineering processes.

Participate in production support activities to ensure timely delivery of high quality data
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience as a BI or Analytics engineer working with a modern tech stack
-
Advanced knowledge of SQL
-
1+ years experience writing Python code
-
Demonstrated ability to design data warehouses (e.g. dimensional modeling) and perform data mining
-
Track record of contributing to high performance systems with reliable monitoring and logging practices
-
Experience with cloud-based data warehouse environment such as Snowflake or Databricks
-
Understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL/ELT frameworks
-
Experience with at least one code management tool such as Git
-
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban development process
-
Experience transforming data in various formats, including JSON, XML, CSV
-
Detailed oriented/self-motivated with the ability to learn and deploy new technology quickly.

Strong communication skills
Would be a plus

Experience working in dbt
-
Experience with OLAP/OLTP queries performance tuning

Experience with workflow management tools (Airflow or similar)
