About the Role

As a Data Scientists at JustAnswer you will work on high impact analytics initiatives with the goal of rapidly growing the business and creating delightful, high quality customer experience. Using your strong analytical skills, the Data Scientist will work with analytics managers and business partners to deliver end-to-end analytical solutions: from developing an analytical framework for a business problem to generating insights that lead to actionable business recommendations. You will contribute to developing ideas that guide product and marketing strategies and drive measurable business impact through application of Machine Learning methods. Utilizing your strong communication skills, you will actively participate in strategic discussions and work cross-functionally to analyze consumer needs and make data-driven recommendations. 

What You’ll Do

• Work with business partners as a subject matter expert (SME) to identify and analyze data associated with key business problems
• Translate business problems into an analytical framework and insights back into actionable recommendations to solve business problems
• Through analytic and data science methods, identify new high-impact areas of opportunity for the business
• Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of analysis that helps the organization assure that we are making the best-informed decisions possible.
• Promote co-creation and encourage others to participate, work smoothly across all levels and departments
• Utilize your strong SQL skills and ability to efficiently extract data from massive, highly complex, multi-dimensional datasets

What We’re Looking For

• Masters’ or higher advanced degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), business, finance, economics, statistics, or related degrees
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in a highly analytical consumer business
• 2 or more years’ experience at a top tier business consulting firm
• A demonstrated track record of delivering superior insight using data
• Excellent skills in Excel
• Strong understanding of experimentation and statistics
• Experience with Python, R and/or advanced statistics
• Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools
• Excellent interpersonal and service-oriented skills
• Proactively shares appropriate level of information across teams
• Strong project management and organization skills
• High-level of accountability and acts as an owner, develops effective short and long-term plans and goals
• Knowledge of and experience in experimental design and hypothesis testing (e.g., A/B testing)

Work Environment

JustAnswer US has adopted a remote-first/full-remote work environment from most US-based locations. Some teams do occasionally have the option to meet in-person for teaming, collaboration, or social events. With employee wellbeing as a top priority, where legally permissible, employees are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend these optional in-person events.
