The Visa Business Data Solutions (VBDS) team is a world-class commercial organization experiencing tremendous, double-digit growth as we expand into new payment flows and continue to grow our core card solutions. This is an incredibly exciting team to join our team as we expand globally. Our team brings payment solutions and associated services to clients around the globe. Our global clients and partners deploy our solutions to serve the needs of Small Businesses, Middle Market Clients, Large Corporate Clients, Multi Nationals and Governments. We work closely with Issuers, Merchants, FinTechs and other ecosystem players to deliver these services. We believe that the market is at an inflection point whereby Visa can play a larger role in building and delivering solutions around the world. As Staff Data Engineer – you will design, coding, testing, enhance and build our services with technology teams for customers in an agile development environment. You will be working with colleagues, who will help, support and challenge you every day. Development, unit testing, code reviewing, and regular check-ins for continuous integration is just part of your DNA. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Master’s Degree.

 Essential Functions:

• Driving technical team, leading the product features and providing technical solutions.
• Ability to deliver on multiple projects and manage priorities based on changing directions.
• Design, Coding, Testing and building/enhancing the critical systems with high-availability and high performance.
• Focus on performance optimization, improving the application scalability and reliability.
• Build new product solutions and POCs using latest technologies.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver high quality products and services.
• Work in Agile/Scrum teams and follow the guidelines.

Preferred Skills:

Language expertise: Java or Scala

• Experience in one of the below skillsets.
  • Experience with building data processing pipelines using Spark and bigdata technologies.
  • Experience with building data processing pipelines using Spark, Spring frameworks, JPA, Hibernate.  
  • Experience with building Web services/API development using SOAP or REST, JSON and XML. Also experience in Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Experience with UI/Web development using angular/react, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS. Microservices and Rest APIs with Spring.
• Expertise with SQL, RDBMS systems like DB2, Oracle or SQL Server. 
• Proficient in GIT/Stash, Maven, Jenkins etc.
• Good interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills with a strong automation mindset.
• Good to have any of the below skills:
  • Experience in building CI/CD and test automation.
  • Experience in Kafka, Streaming, Amazon S3
  • Experience in data modeling, building data warehousing applications.
  • Experience in DevOps.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department
