Ardent is seeking a Senior AI/ML Data Scientist to join our team.  

This is a hybrid, onsite/remote role located in the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a Senior AI/ML Data Scientist to lead a foundational science, advanced computing, state of the art technology, and innovative systems program in direct support of National Security. This position will support DHS in advanced research and support in emerging computing capabilities partnering with other SME’s to develop research and capabilities for S&T. This individual should be able to manage tasks and schedules, consume and communicate complex technical details to non-technical audiences, and should have deep knowledge of developing technical trends.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide scientific evaluation and technical support, research and development on the application of advanced computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and modeling and simulation.
  • Assess state-of-the art and emerging trends in AI/ML.
  • Gather, analyze and compose complex technical information such as analysis of alternatives on technology solutions, technology capability, summaries, and technical requirements documents.
  • Create technical roadmaps outlining plans for implementing AI/ML solutions in both short and long-term timeframes.
  • Assist and lead preparation of technical presentations for delivery by Federal staff at meetings and conferences on the subjects of research, methods, phenomena, or threats for/to advanced computing in AI/ML data analytics.
  • Produce technical documentation regarding the application of advanced computing, AI/ML, modeling and simulation to DHS.
  • Conduct technical reviews for assigned R&D programs supporting AI/ML, identifying potential technical risks, and path forward options/recommendations.
  • Design, build, and deploy various AI/ML models and algorithms using data science tools/process/methods to ingest multiple sources of structured and unstructured data to tackle public safety-related problems.

Education Requirements:

  • MUST HAVE minimum Masters Degree in Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science or other relevant field
  • MUST HAVE minimum 5+ years of experience in AI/ML, modeling and simulation, data science or advanced analytics. 
  • MUST HAVE minimum of Active SECRET clearance, TOP SECRET preferred
  • Preferred PhD in technology, applied math, data science or relevant engineering field
  • Preferred experience in research, technical writing and executive briefings in technical areas.
  • Preferred active DHS EOD
