Data Analytics Engineer

Smartsheet is looking for a Data Analytics Engineer to be responsible for the structure, design, and operations of the BI Snowflake enrichment code base, to ensure data accessibility and efficiency for stakeholders across Smartsheet. The Data Analytics Engineer will implement an efficient/scalable system of schemas and enrichments to optimize transforming data from its raw form in Snowflake, into clean and documented datasets for use by analytics stakeholders and end-users in front-end data products. Working with the BI team, the engineer will ensure the team has the required data to best automate the creation of enrichments and tools/data products.

You will report to our BI Operations Manager located in our Bellevue, WA office, or you may work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.

You Will:

• Turn existing manual or fragile ad hoc processes into repeatable automated jobs
• Own the Snowflake enrichment code base design
• Establish rules/processes to ensure proper access levels 
• Transform code from core systems to an enriched usable format
• Collaborate with BI team members in the creation of enrichments and data products
• Transform raw company data and 3rd party data into enrichment tables
• Establish trusted singular sources of truth for operational metrics
• Provide proper data accessibility and guidelines to analyst teams outside of BI
• Ensure all legal/privacy/SOX requirements are met in Snowflake enrichments

You Have:

• 3-5 years of experience in Advanced SQL knowledge and working with Cloud columnar databases (Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake)
• Analytics engineering experience in building, working & maintaining data pipelines & ETL processes on data environments 
• Production experience working with dbt and designing and implementing Data Warehouse solutions
• Knowledge in modern as well as classic Data Modeling - Kimball, Data mesh, etc
• Familiarity with processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management (data pipeline orchestration, airflow, gitlab scheduler, prefect)
• Familiarity with AWS solutions such as S3, EC2, VPC
• Production experience working with unstructured or semi-structured datasets
