JOB SUMMARY

 

We are looking for a Senior Systems Analyst (Power BI) to join our Global Networks Analytics team and play a key role in developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI. This position is a technical expert that will be responsible for identifying, developing and fulfilling reporting needs for Global Networks’ products and services. The Senior Analyst will collaborate with end users and teams to understand data and reporting requirements and then create reports and dashboards to deliver against those needs. This role is also expected to implement data governance standards and best practices as well as provide Power BI training and support to end users and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data visualization and analytics, with a strong understanding of Power BI's capabilities and best practices within the hospitality industry. 

 

 CANDIDATE PROFILE

 

Education and Experience

 

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent experience/certification
  • 7+ years’ experience in information technology and/or analytics including: 
    • 4+ years’ experience in developing business intelligence solutions in Power BI.
    • 4+ years’ experience in integrating and aggregating data from various complex sources (e.g. SQL databases, ServiceNow, Excel, SharePoint and various Network monitoring tools such as NetMRI, Cisco Umbrella) 
    • 4+ years experience in designing intuitive and interactive dashboards and reports that effectively communicate complex data insights
    • Proven experience implementing data modeling concepts and developing data models in Power BI 
    • Proven experience 
  • Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and M languages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience understanding networking and operations data to enable KPI measurements
  • Experience responding to user requests and formulating responses using both business and technical knowledge
  • Excellent analytical skills where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult
  • Experience identifying and analyzing alternative solutions to complex business requirements and providing guidance and advice 
  • Experience with business process re-engineering or continuous process improvement 
  • Project Management background desired
  • Hospitality industry or similar service-oriented industry experience is a plus

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights through Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Design and develop data models, queries, and visualizations in Power BI to support strategic initiatives and drive business performance.
  • Optimize Power BI reports for performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Implement data governance standards and best practices to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of data within Power BI solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionality, data interpretation, and best practices.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in Power BI technology and recommend innovative solutions to enhance data analytics capabilities.

  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Thinks creatively and practically to develop, execute and implement new project plans.
  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the quality of operations.

  • Applies knowledge/judgment to achieve business goals.
  • Foresees, identifies and resolves problems.
  • Keeps up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to job.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as required for this position.

 

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually.

Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $190,154 annually.

Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $116,205 to $209,169 annually.

New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually.

Washington, D.C. Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $105,641 to $190,154 annually.

Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038 to $209,169 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
