About the Role:

Flock Freight’s Infrastructure team spans the following focus areas: Data, Platform, Developer Experience, Site Reliability and Machine Learning infrastructure. You will join a world-class team partnering with Data Science, ML and Product Engineers to build reliable, performant and flexible infrastructure that can rapidly evolve with the needs of the Machine Learning development cycle.

What you’ll be working on:

• Maintain and optimize our Core ML architecture (including Kubeflow & KServe) 
• Build production ready systems for processing data, running experiments, managing model artifacts / versions, etc
• Building out feature store and feature management tooling

Responsibilities: 

• Continuously improve reliability, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness of ML infrastructure system
• Maintain parity between data handling in production and development environments with minimal code duplication
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with data scientists and engineers to gather and refine requirements 
• Evaluate and reason about tradeoffs between competing / complementary 3rd party ML services and frameworks
• Familiar with common ML Ops performance and monitoring metrics
• Design scale-appropriate systems and avoid premature overengineering / performance optimization
• Comfortable working incrementally in one week sprints 

Qualifications: 

• 1+ years of hands-on production experience with end-to-end ML workflows in a cloud environment (e.g. on top of Kubeflow, SageMaker, Google Cloud Vertex, or a custom solution)
• Mastery of Python and common DS libraries and frameworks (e.g. Scikit-learn, xgBoost, Tensorflow)
• Experience working with Feature Stores
• Ability to champion engineering projects independently (i.e. without others with a shared skillset) and estimate LOE realistically
• Experience with  "Big Data" technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, etc.)
