About the team
We are a Product focused business unit focused on Knowledge Management and Collaborative Work Management themes. Today the majority of our customer base and value add is via Confluence and Trello Apps. We have 3 main product teams and a management structure to support that as well a number of key roles working across those 3 product teams. 
We cover the usual Product functions so Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, UX etc. Today the team is approx 30 people. 
About the role
The purpose of the Senior Data Analyst role is to provide actionable, data-driven, insights to the business. The portfolio of digital products this role would cover are diverse and insights required relate to user interaction, user sentiment, financial performance, license statistics and other product and user-related metrics. The team are the ‘Front Door’ for end users into the wider Analytics Team (comprising of Analytics Analyst & Analytics Engineers), leveraging excellent stakeholder management and analysis skills to improve the outcome of business decisions.
Contributing to  the Presentation layer of our Data Stack (BI reports, Presentation Layer, Kimball Models) the Analyst role has a significant impact on the ability of the organisation to access  information and insights.
They work closely with the organisation to understand Business Issues which require reporting or information, translate these into requirements, and then, working alongside Analytics Engineers, deliver solutions.
The Analytics Analyst is a hybrid role, combining skills around problem-solving and understanding stakeholder’s needs, alongside the implementation of Technical Solutions (Modelling, SQL, coding, Databases etc). They look to leverage our ‘Data Estate’, focussing on reusability of Models, ease of access to information for end users and evangelising the use of our Data Assets.

What you'll be doing

  • Driving awareness of the data insights available and providing a consultative manner to educate their peers from other teams on how to ask the right questions to best inform future decision-making. 
  • Working with stakeholders across the business (product management, marketing, engineering,  UX, business unit management ), delivering timely, accurate insights and data to the business
  • Advising on how to effectively link high-level business goals and targets to product performance and usage metrics.
  • Working on complex projects (3-6 months) to develop new Data Assets.
  • Evangelising with the broader organisation on the usage of our Data Stack.
  • Working with stakeholders to translate Business Requirements into Technical specs and then with the Team to deliver.
  • Contributing to the ‘Presentation’ Layer of the Data Stack (modelling, Kimball)
  • Creating new dashboards and ad-hoc reports for departments across their business unit, documenting the transformation and business logic 
  • Maintaining and updating existing dashboards and reports based on requests from business stakeholders
  • Manipulating, analysing and interpreting complex data sets to draw valid inferences and determine key metrics
  • Following robust Change Control Process to ‘Protect Production Environment’
  • Reviewing Other Team Members Change Requests. 

What we're looking for

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Stakeholder Management Skills
  • Enjoys Problem-Solving
  • Business Analysis Skills (Can take an idea and translate to a Tech Spec)
  • Intermediate to advanced  knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau etc (we use Superset)
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets
  • Able to work on own initiative, self motivate, prioritize and time manage efficiently
  • Drive to learn and improve technical and soft skills
  • Able to communicate technical solutions/issues to technical and non-technical staff

  • Desirable
  • Knowledge of best practices for digital products user and performance tracking
  • Advanced Experience with SQL and Data Visualisation tools
  • Experience of Data Modelling (Kimball, Datavault)
  • Snowflake experience
  • DBT experience
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian ecosystem reporting
  • Experience in understanding the relationship between marketing operational and performance data and product user and performance data
