Senior Data Engineer - NLP Team

In particular, we are enriching our marketing automation platforms with deep learning and NLP applications. You’ll work closely with your team and your peers, Product Manager, UX Designer, and Scrum Master to ensure successful planning and execution of projects.  You and your teams will create critical functionality for the rollout of many of Constant Contact’s key initiatives.

We have an opening for a Senior Data Engineer to join the Natural Language Processing (NLP) team to empower Constant Contact's AI engines in the coming years. As a data master, you will be the primary contributor to designing data pipelines and warehouses to process and optimize data from multiple sources to help data scientists build large-scale NLP models. 

What you’ll do:

• Build scalable, highly performant infrastructure for delivering clear business insights from a variety of raw data sources
• Develop batch & real-time analytical solutions, prototypes, and proofs of concept for selected solutions
• Build frameworks and tools to empower our data scientists and analysts
• Implement complex analytical projects with a focus on collecting, managing, analyzing, and visualizing data
• Be in constant communication with team members and other relevant parties and convey results efficiently and clearly
• Work within the NLP team to evaluate business needs and priorities, act as a primary contributor to defining a roadmap for collecting large scale marketing datasets
• Provide technical leadership for data architecture, design, implementation of ETL, and data pipeline
• Develop and document data standards and provide technical oversight on projects to ensure compliance through the adoption and promotion of industry standards / best practices / guiding principles aligned with organization standards
• Partner with data scientists within the NLP team and other teams (IT, content team, engineering) to understand data needs and deliver high-quality data for the need to build large NLP models
• Influence product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact

Who you are:

• 2+ years of working experience in building ETL data pipelines and creating tools/services for data access and reporting
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related fields or equivalent professional experience
• Excellent experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (Postgres etc.)
• Excellent programming skills and proficiency in Python, Numpy, Pandas, Spark, SQL for ETL, API development, data scraping
• Excellent experience in using AWS or GCP
• Previous experience in building data pipelines/databases for large AI models is preferred
• Prior experience working in a data science team is preferred
• Familiarity with the basic principles of distributed computing and data modeling
• Extensive experience with object-oriented design and coding and testing patterns, including experience with engineering software platforms and data infrastructures
• Working experience with AWS Athena, EMR, or Glue is a plus
• Working experience with Scala is a plus
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated; you own your work and need a minimal direction
• Collaborative team player
