At Signify, we receive customer requests for quotes for large projects like hospitals, offices, stadiums, and roads. These requests typically consist of large sets of documents, wherein only a portion is relevant for lighting quotes. These documents often include text, tables, pictures, and schematic diagrams. An example of the latter is floorplans, which are 2D drawings showing the layout and size of rooms.

Your job is to extract information from the floorplans, such as:

• The number of rooms
• Room sizes
• Types of luminaires
• Number of luminaires per room

The assignment will begin with an investigation into possible tools and techniques. You will explore the availability of commercial tools and then examine techniques ranging from classical vision methods to the latest AI-based models. The final solution may involve a combination of these approaches.

Please note that "luminaire types" refer to different categories or designs of lighting fixtures.

Your investigation will inform the selection of tools and techniques. The output format for the extracted information should be structured, such as CSV or JSON.

Your qualifications

• Studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related field

• Strong programming skills in Python

• An independent and determined worker who thrives in dynamic work environments.
