We’re looking for a Business Data Analyst who can partner with Business and Engineering teams to help us manage the various aspects of data governance and data quality. As part of the data governance team you will define data rules and measures; and manage the Data Quality for Credit Sesame. 

You'll...

  • Extract actionable insights from big data to provide suitable benchmarks and solutions for Credit Sesame’s mission of empowering members to own (self-manage) their credit and achieve credit wellness (by lowering the cost of the credit and improving their credit scores). 
  • Partner with Business Development, Compliance and Analytics teams to help drive data governance by developing key metrics, dashboards, and backend applications for easy access to all appropriate metrics. 
  • Apply expertise in big data analytics and management to develop analytics, visualization methods, and tools to inform Management’s strategic planning and drive business development decisions. 
  • Further data deliverables through the optimization of data quality, performing data analysis and data mining in large SQL databases, and applying predictive modeling theories to recommend solutions to complex business problems. 
  • Utilize database reporting, programming, and analytical tools (SQL, SAS, Tableau, Pandas, NumPy, Julia, MATLAB, Python, R, Bash, Looker, etc.) to perform data manipulation, data extractions, and the merging of large and complex data. 
  • Create dashboards using Looker to visualize data and gain organizational insight into Credit Sesame’s business practices, recommending enhancements where necessary. 
  • Design and maintain reports and dashboards to track and communicate Credit Sesame’s key performance indicators. 
  • Build out analytics pipelines to assess current processes as well as identify ways to expedite and automate them. 
  • Provide analytical insight for process improvement efforts for data content creation teams.
  • Analyze, translate, and distill complex data concepts and patterns to support leadership decision-making and the development of responsive, project-specific management plans. 
  • Interact with data source owners and contribute to the development and implementation of project plans and initiatives.

You're a great fit for our team because...

  • you have a Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • you have one (1) year of Data Analysis, Research and Development, Product Engineering, or related experience
  • you have six (6) months of experience creating documentation around data management based on changing business definitions;
  • you have six (6) months of experience building and publishing interactive reports and dashboards using internal tools to track key business metrics;
  • you have six (6) months of experience completing strategic projects to improve data quality in data management platforms;
  • you have six (6) months of experience supporting key business functions by working cross-functionally to resolve known data quality problems;
  • you have six (6) months of experience cleaning and enriching data using internal data upload and merge tools;
  • you have six (6) months of experience optimizing existing SQL query for better performance; creating data pipelines using Python to transfer data;
  • you have six (6) months of experience automating data migration processes using SQL and Python;
  • you have six (6) months of experience utilizing SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, SAS, Java, Python, NumPy, R, Docker, Looker, and Tableau.
