CSE / School of Informatics.

Fixed Term Contract - Temporary.

Full Time - 35 Hours Per Weeks.

The Opportunity:

The School of Informatics, is recruiting two CDT Administrators to support the following Centres for Doctoral Training:

  • UKRI AI CDT in Designing Responsible and Trustworthy in-the-world Natural Language Processing;
  • EPSRC CDT in Machine Learning Systems;
  • UKRI AI CDT in Dependable and Deployable Artificial Intelligence for Robotics (joint iwht Heriot Watt University).

These programmes will recruit and support 5 cohorts of doctoral students and train the next generation of AI and Machine Learning leaders. We are looking for two confident self-starters with a passion for delivering excellent service and support, a keen attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. 

There are two posts available, and both are full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.  We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint and experience of interrogating and updating specialist databases, with high attention to detail.   
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication. Flexible attitude and experience in customer service.
  • Significant experience of working in a busy administrative office, ideally in an HE environment, with proven ability to take initiative and proactively manage competing job demands. 
  • Experience of committee servicing / minute taking and event management. 
  • Experience in interpreting, applying and advising on complex institutional policies and procedures, preferably in the following areas: purchasing, expenses, student recruitment, on-course student support.
