The role 👩‍🚀

This year, we would like to invite applications to join our data science team for a three month placement between January and March. You will be treated as a full-time employee and become a core part of the team. You will work alongside and be mentored by experienced data scientists, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute to current research and development.

Previous applicants have contributed to a diverse range of projects described on our engineering blog. The common theme is that these are significant projects that generated a lasting benefit for our business and our customers.

In order to qualify for the placement you need to meet the following criteria:

• Be eligible to work in the UK
• Have knowledge of programming, ideally in Python
• Have experience communicating your work to stakeholders
• Have knowledge of statistical models or machine learning

Areas of experience that will be useful in the role:

• Familiarity with data analysis packages such as scikit-learn, numpy, pandas

Benefits 🎁

This is a paid placement (£450 per week), on a fixed term contract for 3 months. Working hours can be between 35 hours (full-time) and 28 hours per week; we are happy to explore all flexible working arrangements. This role will be based in our Edinburgh office, however, there will be an opportunity to adopt hybrid working, working under an agreed pattern from both the office and at home each week.
