Main Responsibilities:
- Consulting with management and relevant stakeholders to define goals.
- Researching, developing, and implementing data-gathering methods.
- Analysing and synthesizing data sets
- Reporting back on your findings and suggesting solutions.
- Collaborating with co-workers and management to implement improvements.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
Requirements:
- 2 years + working with statistics, data science or a related field.
- Proven experience working with Python or SQL to query and transform large datasets.
- Experience working with shallow Machine Learning models such as regression, classification.
- Understanding of relational databases and non-relational databases
- Expert problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Collaborative mindset.
- Proven aptitude and attitude towards learning new concepts.

How will you spend your days?
- Assemble large, complex data sets and perform analysis using advanced analytics or data science techniques
- Identify, design, and implement data science solutions: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, providing deeper insight for client
- Build Machine Learning models that utilize data pipelines to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
- Work with stakeholders including Executives, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data science solutions scoping sessions, machine learning algorithms technical issues and implementations.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to grow a pipeline of novel data science opportunities, bringing in your ideas and sharing knowledge.
- Produce briefing notes, reports and other written outputs relating to the content and structure of datasets and data science models.
- Work with the wider Data Science team to build our brand – engaging in conferences, thought-leadership marketing pieces and podcasts.

Qualifications for a Junior Data Science Consultant
- Exposure or interest in working with public sector datasets.
- Experience using Python, R or Scala to analyse data and build Machine Learning models
- Strong analytical skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- A successful history and passion for manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Delivering high-quality content at pace. Translating complex technical solutions into tangible actions for stakeholders
- Building trust with clients
- A good understanding of our clients’ markets and challenges
- A passion for achieving business transformation through data science and AI; the ability to energise and excite those you work with initiative; the ability to work flexibly in a team, working comfortably without direct supervision
- Demonstrated experience in communicating high complex technical solutions to a range of technically competent stakeholders
- Personal accountability - enthusiasm to develop your own projects and take ownership and bring in new ideas.
- Calm and adaptable in the face of ambiguity and in a fast-paced, quick-changing environment
- You must be comfortable with the consulting lifestyle and be willing to travel
