About the job

This position is needed to scope, design, and deploy machine learning systems into the real world to ensure that communication across Twilio platforms remains legal, safe and wanted. 

As a Machine-Learning Engineer, you thrive at designing large-scale systems, building complex predictive models, performing efficient experimentation and automating processes. You will partner with Architects, Product Managers and Operational Leaders for developing anti-fraud/ anti-abuse systems for our customers.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Understand the business problems and figure out solutions using data and AI/ML models 
  • Take the problem from the Ideation phase to a production application and this would involve data engineering, EDA, Model creation/maintenance and exposing the results through APIs.
  • Consult with the Product Managers, Sales and GTM on the feasibility of the solution and the marketability of the same.
  • Design and develop data applications and frameworks
  • Define the data models for a variety of personas and use cases
  • Support business decisions with ad hoc analysis as needed.
  • Monitoring data/model performance and modifying infrastructure as needed.
  • Making the solution scalable for Twilio communication products 
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and engineering teams across the organization and geographies.
  • Finding external data sources which help the existing solutions. 
  • Define data retention policies and design the data layer for a variety of compliance standards.
  • Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of data
  • Propose ML platform features and create the same with a set of engineers.
  • Mentor junior engineers in the team and take them to the next level.
  • Influence people on the outcome of ML based solutions.

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Machine learning engineer.
  • Experience in creating AI/ML models in real time streaming data platforms.
  • Expert in relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in distributed computational frameworks (YARN, Spark, Hadoop).
  • Expert level knowledge in Python and basic libraries for machine learning such as Scikit-learn, Pandas, SciPy, Gensim and Numpy.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with dealing with low latency API services, scaling them.
  • Expert level knowledge in EDA and data visualization to showcase the nature of data.
  • Knowledge in Building pipelines to monitor, extract, index and build & tune ML models.

Desired:

  • Experience with stream-processing systems:Kafka, Spark-Streaming, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.

Location 

This role will be based in our Bangalore office

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.
